A Little Life Update (And A New Book Coming Soon!)

Hello, and happy new year! It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post—and a year and a half (!) since the publication of my first novel, The Girl Who Tried to Change History. I can’t believe it!

Thank you so much to everyone who read my novel, recommended it to friends, left reviews on amazon, and helped me get my creation out into the world. Your enjoyment and enthusiasm for the story means the world to me, and I will forever be grateful for your support.

So, what have I been up to since publishing a book? Quite a lot! I started a new job (in a field totally unrelated to novel-writing) a few months before my book came out, and I’ve been busy at work over the past two years.  I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel to some incredible places—Greece, Mexico City, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Minnesota, and the Maldives—and just returned from spending Christmas in London with family, which was absolutely magical.

And in between my day job and my globe-trotting habit, I did something else—I wrote another book!

My second novel will be coming out in spring 2025.  It’s a bit different from my first book; rather than transplanting a fictional character back to a real-world past, it brings two real people into a fictional version of their future.  Or--to describe it succinctly without giving too much away—it’s the story of what might have happened to a real-life historical couple of the 20th century if one event in their story had turned out differently.  (Hopefully that provides enough clues to start you guessing!)

I’ll keep you posted when I have an official publication date, so keep checking in at www.melissakaplanbooks.com for more updates.

I hope you will all read my new book, and that you love the story as much as I loved writing it (which I truly did).  Until then, I hope you enjoy many other good books during these chilly winter months, and that my story ends up on your TBR list this spring.
